Young and Divine

Young and Divine is a SUPER new band from Albany,NY. Their music is a cool mix of rock, indie, and ""powerpop", similar to Death Cab for Cutie and The Academy Is...

My favorite songs are of their are "Weekdays" and "Strangers by Day". They both put a lot of emphasis on drums and voice (lead singer J.P. Clark), which together make the band.

They're on iTunes, but check out their myspace page, too (lots of good links).

Enjoy! ;)

Say Anthing...

Say Anything got their start in highschool, but didn't release their first real album until 2004. They have a punk-rock feel that's not too harsh, slightly like Blink-182.

Overall, good band. I'm more into their first album, "...Is a Real Boy", than their more recent one, which is much more commercialized. "...Is a Real Boy" also features my favorite song from them "Alive with the Glory of Love". For people who like Jack's Mannequin, Blink-182 and maybe even Panic! at the Disco, you would probably like Say Anything just as well.

Elbow

Finally, a somewhat unheard (at least in the U.S.)band worth mentioning.Throughout their career, the sound of their music has changed drastically, ranging from mellow and instrumental, vaugely similar to the "Doves", to more standard ballads, almost close to pop songs. Although "Elbow" has gotten notice from larger producers, such as Universal, they only recieved their big break in recent years. They're set to tour in the UK this month.

Some of my favorite songs of theirs are "Station Approach", "Fallen Angel", and "Leaders of the Free World".

AMAZING music

Just dropping by with a great artisit I just stumbled upon. Like Gomez, the Doves are also from England, so most Americans probably haven't heard them. Their music sounds similar to the Beatles, but also has a more indie-pop feel, which puts them in their own type of genre.

My favorite song of theirs, by far, is "There Goes the Fear". It's a great song to listen to anytime; while driving, in the shower, or just hanging around the house. Unlike other indie bands, their music is also really fun to dance to :)

Enjoy them!

new spring music

Hey everybody...
Found some new music: Steve Means, Nathan Angelo, Rocco Deluca, and Gomez. I wouldn't suggest them to someone who likes more "dancy" music, though. It's all pretty low-key, but the songs still have good tunes and lyrics.

Gomez isn't new, but probably has the best and most fun music. They're an indie band with a blues/rock feel from England, so not many Americans have heard them.

I would take a look at Steve Means' "Rescue Me", Nathan Angelo's "Dreams", Roco Deluca's "Colorful" or "Soul" (Soul is more of a rock feel, while Colorful is more of a pop-rock ballad), and Gomez's "Girlshapedlovedrug" to get a feel of the songs.

Hope you enjoy them!

hey everyone!

Well, I'm pretty new at this whole blogging thing. My blog is pretty much a way to find great undiscovered artists and bands. Unlike some people though, I'm not going to post any links. As Maya says, "Get off your lazy asses and do it yourself!"

Anywho, enjoy the artists! Hope you like them =]
